ZERO PLUS 1155 DAYS,--New York, NY, Wednesday,
November 10, 2004--Today,
November 10th, marks the 229th anniversary of the U.S. Marine
Corps, my military alma matter.
Today is
the 229th Anniversary of the Marine Corps
Founded
in 1775 by the Continental Congress, the Marine Corps historically
is used to take on the toughest battle jobs, usually called
to be the first group in and the last one out.
In Falluja,
Iraq, a major battle rages with U.S. Marines spearheading the
attack. If there are Sentinels of Military Vigilance designed
to ward off the Beast of Terror, then the U.S. Marines are akin
to the famous Spartans who stood protection over all "forces
of evil" seeking to invade and destroy their land.
